Set during the Civil War, Free State of Jones tells the story of defiant Southern farmer, Newt Knight, and his extraordinary armed rebellion against the Confederacy. Banding together with other small farmers and local slaves, Knight launched an uprising that led Jones County, Mississippi to secede from the Confederacy, creating a Free State of Jones. Knight continued his struggle into Reconstruction, distinguishing him as a compelling, if controversial, figure of defiance long beyond the War
Matthew McConaughey is on a roll right now, as he's been picking projects both prestigious and profitable over the past couple of years. With Interstellar behind him and The Sea Of Trees ahead for some time this year, the Academy Award-winner also already has a film lined up for next March – and today we have our first look. Judging by this still from The Free State Of Jones, it looks like it could be the continuation of the streak that the we've come to know as, "the McConaissance."
Rounding out the cast of The Free State Of Jones is The Americans' Keri Russell, as Newton's wife, Serena; as well as Belle's Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Newton's lover and eventual second wife, Rachel. Both women know their way around historical period pieces, and both sound like they'll be an absolute delight to see paired off with Matthew McConaughey. What's interesting about The Free State Of Jones is the fact that it's one of those historical films that tells a story that while being a part of history, isn't very well known by a lot of people. It's easy to make another movie about Abraham Lincoln and the battle of Gettysburg, but blazing a historical trail in the film industry is something that can easily be saluted.
However, it could also very easily be feared, as one wrong detail or one false note could send the whole film back to being ranked as an amateur in a business that sadly tends to favor familiarity over uniqueness. That is, if anyone sees The Free State Of Jones, considering it's being released at a rather inopportune time. The March 2016 release date is a little bit of a troubling sign for The Free State Of Jones, particularly with its lack of a major studio backing it for distribution thus far and Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice opening a week and a half after it. Unless it’s really great, this flick could be forgotten as quickly as it's released. But another factor to keep in mind is the fact that Gary Ross' last directorial effort, The Hunger Games, also found itself released in an off season release date with a similarly modest budget.
For now, The Free State Of Jones looks to take aim at history on March 16th, 2016.

Having come close to his dream of joining BBC as an Investigative reporter, Goutham, an Engineering graduate gets arrested by Police for having used counterfeit degree certificates to swindle a bank. With his career at stake, he decides to take on the counterfeiting racket mafia.
STRENGTHS:- * Drums Sivamani's powerful background score and Yappa song... * Atharva's rocking performance..... * Concept was different
WEAKNESSES:- * Weak Screenplay at many places.... * Catherine teresa doesn't know acting.... * Songs were boring and useless at few places.....
FINAL VERDICT:- * Overall... It is a clean one time watch movie, you can't say it is a thriller but trys, you will see many AR murugadoss touch in handling scenes but debutant director fails little bit in execution. First 25 mins is waste of time then movie starts and after interval it was very grippy, song comes like a speed breaker and spoils the exact flow.... this movie could be named as KO-2. Go for one time and enjoy.
Kanithan is an action thriller that throws light on the issue of fake certificates. Atharvaa and Catherine both play the role of journalists in the film and the story has been told via these characters. Director: T.N. Santhosh Writer: T.N. Santhosh Stars: Aadhira, Tarun Arora, Atharvaa
The protagonist Gowtham (Atharvaa) is on a mission to expose a dangerous fake educational certificate racket. Though an interesting premise, the uninspired writing and execution leave a lot to be desired.
The director takes 20 minutes to introduce his characters with drab comedy.
Gowtham is an investigative journalist, working for a small-time television network.
His certificates are sent for a routine police verification and suddenly he is caught in a dreadful nightmare.
He and a group of youngsters are arrested for forging degree certificates to get educational bank loans amounting to several crores. They are arrested and their certificates declared invalid, ending their professional careers.
Gowtham uses his investigative skills to find how this ingenious network has infiltrated every field, flooding the society with a sea of unqualified, untrained individuals masquerading as doctors, engineers, teachers and civil servants.
Aadukalam Naren, who plays Atharvaa’s father and Manobala, his boss, have nothing to offer. Neither does director K Bhagyaraj, who appears briefly to offer timely advice.
Catherine Tresa is reduced to playing an annoying girlfriend who is nothing but trouble for Gowtham. After her more sedate roles in Madras and Kathakali, the pretty actress ups the glamour quotient here.
Karunakaran has an interesting role to play, but it is the good looking and extremely fit Atharvaa, who is perfectly cast. He is this angry young man, who gives a convincing performance, excelling especially in the fight sequences that have been cleverly choreographed. Tarun Arora makes a worthy opponent, adding a challenge and lending credibility to the enormity of the crime.
The background score by Drums Sivamani is too loud and dramatic, but the film is visually impressive. The racy thriller is punctuated by boring romance and mundane comedy. Director Santhosh seems determined to follow a set template with the required dose of action, romance, comedy, sentiments and songs with no thought to the flow of the narration.
Despite the compelling plot, Kanithan is an uninspired action thriller that has little to offer

The first feature from director Richard Raymond, from a script by Jon Croker, “Desert Dancer” gets off on its particular foot by morphing Farsi characters into English ones, and enacting its Iran-based drama with a largely English-born cast, speaking in English. Okay, then; international-headline socially-conscious movies tend to do better business in English-speaking countries if they’re in English. Good thing Iran is such a cosmopolitan country, as it makes the language seem less forced. I’m making a joke, but not entirely—Iran IS a cosmopolitan country even in its current oppressed form. “The home to great poetry,” an opening-text title says (shades of the pre-action apologia for “Argo”). There are ever different currents flowing in its culture, and the movie shows young, dance-crazy Afshin Ghaffarian taken up by one of those currents. Punished at his official school for dancing in front of classmates—dancing, while not officially “illegal” in the country, is highly frowned upon by the “morality police” of particular administrations—Afshin is then invited to attend an underground arts school, where he sees on film for the first time Rudolf Nureyev. He’s then hooked, and when he gets to the University of Tehran about a decade later, he’s ready to hook up with a new group of friends who introduce him to secret dance clubs.

Storyline: Leo is smitten with the new hire in his company, but the new hire, April, only follows the "love" advice from her psychic, Madam Lazora. Faced with this problem, Leo bribes the Madam Lazora to tell April that he's "the one." April "sees" Leo (the double lion) in a new light, and they get to know each other. Except she's into him too much to the point where she's driving him crazy.
User Reviews:This movie is very cute and for a short film, makes a very interesting observation about life and how we sometimes "force an issue" even when it may not be for our best interest. There were many points in the movie where I could actually see myself doing some of what Leo did and that hit a nice chord. I loved all the characters, and the actors made the whole thing come to life. Cole and Taylor make the lead characters come to life as they play "the happy couple" and to see what happens with Leo is very funny.
I do believe we will be seeing much more from these actors and I look forward to it. Great first movie for director Jeff Bonilla. I hope to see more from him soon.

Neerja is a portrayal on the life of the courageous Neerja Bhanot, who sacrificed her life while protecting the lives of 359 passengers on the Pan Am flight 73 in 1986. The flight was hijacked by a terrorist organization. User Reviews A well done tribute on Neerja Bhanot 19 February 2016 I am glad that a movie was made(an inspiration) on the life of the late Neerja Bhanot. Frankly, if not for the movie, I'd not have known(like many of us) or be reminded about the brave air hostess or the Pan Am hijacking. So, the effort behind this cinema has to be applauded. Besides releasing this tribute, the noteworthy achievement of the movie has been the construction of the hijacked plane(looks amazingly convincing on screen), the music, the edge of the seat tension and the heartwarming mother-daughter relationship.
Although the film has its share of flaws(including the weak final moments in the plane), it's a work that's to be appreciated for the attempt to show us what it must have been like for a young lady to make split second decisions to save hundreds of lives under extreme circumstances. The movie can provoke you to think how you'd have reacted(as a passenger or staff) in such a situation and if you'd have been as daring or defiant.
Talking about the performances, although Sonam Kapoor got a great role, the greater performance came from Shabana Azmi as her mother. She was simply stellar and probably the highlight of her role is at the end, when she speaks about her daughter. The speech is a heart wringer. Talking about Neerja the character, to essay it is like once in a lifetime opportunity even among the best & brightest in Bollywood(the casting team surely didn't search beyond Bollywood names). Indeed Sonam Kapoor is talented but still very young. They say an actor is only as good as a director who directs him or her and I felt, Sonam could have been guided better especially in some of the do or die, emotionally draining scenes which could have been a struggle even among industry veterans. It was like asking her to do a Picasso or Michaelangelo painting and expect the work to be as good as the original! Even so, given the responsibility & importance of the role, Sonam does exceedingly well but her finest yet as an actor? Maybe but hope to see better. But she has proudly proved here what she is capable of. And now, let me humbly say, the actor who truly steals the show in Neerja is Jim Sarbh as one of the terrorists Khalil. A brilliantly crazy, maniacal performance!
Where did I think the movie is a let down? For one, like I said, the movie makers failed Sonam Kapoor especially in few very difficult to do scenes where she could have been guided better(and also with some of the child actors). And then I was disappointed with how the climax moments in the hijack were shot, specifically the camera angles. I can't tell more really without it being a spoiler. Another scene is when Khalil pins Sonam to the wall demanding for the American passports

Storyline: A young boy wants to become a big shot but after seeing the bad things involved he instead chooses to pursue his passion that is singing, similar to his father.
User Reviews:This movie did all to gain the popularity from last year's heart-warming script and performances of Masaan. But the hurry-ness in showing a surge of emotions didn't allow the script to speak for itself. This can also be summarized in a way if we say that plot itself was weak. It's a decently made film, but some looseness in every direction catches the sheen away. It had many different plot lines and hence the story line itself was confused as in how and where to align all these blocks.
Vicky Kaushal's innocence rules again throughout. He acted his disability in a very natural way. Although it was not a great performance but certainly was a decent one. Sarah Jane Dias was a big let down. I had lots of expectations from her, especially after Angry Indian Goddesses. I had started thinking that she's underrated in this industry. She has to put some real efforts to gain any amount of popularity now. Manish Chaudhary as a businessman was wonderful. As always his visual appeal and body language was perfect.
Mozez Singh debut looked more a copy of a well-directed movie of this type. He didn't really do full justice to get all the pieces together. May be he needs a good mentor and some training if he has to produce a good directorial piece.
The background musical score is very dramatic which would've worked if the script seemed strong. But as with everything else, the looseness throttled the glaze here as well.
Overall, a weak plot and a loose execution that throttled the whole grace.
